Flat rack container shipping
For cargo too wide, too tall or too heavy for a standard container — machinery, fabrications, pipe and project pieces.
When it doesn't fit in a box
Flat racks have end walls but no sides or roof, so oversized cargo can be lifted on from the top or sides and secured for the ocean voyage.
We arrange flat rack shipments for machinery that can't roll aboard a RoRo vessel, as well as fabricated steel and aluminum, pipe, tanks and other out-of-gauge pieces. For tall cargo that fits a container's width, open top containers are another option; for the largest pieces, breakbulk.
We coordinate inland trucking to and from the port. We ship from all US seaports, with a preference for Northeast, East Coast, Southeast and Gulf Coast ports. We handle non-hazardous cargo only.

Frequently asked questions
When should I use a flat rack instead of RoRo?
Flat rack suits cargo that can't be driven or towed aboard, or that is better lifted and lashed — for example tracked machines, fabrications and project pieces.
What is the difference between flat rack and open top?
An open top container has sides but no roof, for tall cargo loaded from above. A flat rack has no sides, for cargo that is also too wide.
Do you ship flat racks to and from Europe?
Yes. Europe, the UK, the Middle East and South America are our primary trade lanes, for both exports and imports.
